6th International Citizen Wind Symposium and Citizen Energy Forum: More women's power in community energy

As part of a two-year project on women in the energy transition funded by the Environment & Development Foundation, WWEA and LEE NRW are organizing the 6th International Citizens' Wind Symposium in virtual form on April 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The core aim of the project is to find ways and approaches to make the community energy transition more diverse and, above all, to attract more women to community energy. In the first year of the project, primarily empirical data was collected about the proportion of women.

At this year's symposium we would like to present to you the preliminary results of the second project year. The aim here is to formulate recommendations to community energy companies and politicians on how the proportion of women in community energy can be increased. The results will be discussed with various experts from community energy and politics.

One result is already clear: In order to attract more women, new forms of communication and, above all, generally better framework conditions are required so that community energy can grow again.

More detailed information about the project, including partners and results, can be found here: https://wwindea.org/women/
