WWEA, in collaboration with LEE NRW and the Japan Community Power Association, has analysed the share of women in community energy projects, both in Germany and Japan. As expected, the study has found that the share of women amongst the shareholders in such community energy projects is still low. This finding is in contrast to the fact that women have in average a higher awareness of environmental and climate related problems.

Accordingly, the webinar will also discuss the consequences of the findings with the members of the project advisory committee, which represent different fields in renewable energy: What needs to be done to increase the share of women actively involved in renewable energy?

Invited panelists include:
Moderator: Krisztina André, Bündnis BürgerEnergie
Laura Williamson, REN21
Dr. Shota Furuya, researcher in Japan
Dr. Tetsu Iida, ISEP Japan
Timo Karl, co-author of the study
Christine Lins, GWNET
Molly Walsh, community energy expert, Europe
